Wedding Ring Lounge – Our Story

Imagine you are planning to give a gift to someone you love, are preparing a marriage proposal or are already planning your wedding and are still looking for the right piece of jewelry, a sparkling engagement ring or your perfect wedding rings. Often you don’t have an idea yet and want to be inspired or you have an idea and hope that it will be understood and implemented. For all these great events you expect an atmospheric environment, beyond the hustle and bustle but emotional but at the same time expert.

These thoughts went through the mind of our founder and mentor, Umut Karatag, for years and he was completely dissatisfied with the situation in jewelry retail. Because whenever lovers had time to take care of a great event, it was simply not possible to create an optimal environment. This was mainly due to the fact that a full range of jewelry, watches and services meant that there was no time for this. After his own wedding in 2006 and a lot of interviews with “like-minded people”, his idea was born to make a business out of love and to serve it. After sketching and summarizing his ideas, he presented them to his longtime supplier Marcus Breuning (Managing Director of Breuning GmbH / Pforzheim). Together with a great team of designers, product developers and creative people, a unique concept for lovers and those who want to get married was developed. On 03.11.2007 the first BREUNING wedding ring lounge opened in Hamburg.
